Montgomery Securities released a summary of a meeting they had with CIOs to discuss Y2K and Computer Hardware Plans. This summary came out in the last few hours on First Call and here are some highlights:

-"...Y2K could support hardware spending growth in 1H99...most of the Y2K hardware spending will take place as companies address Y2K compliance issues on PC servers and desktops."

_SUNW, CPQ and DELL were mentioned as beneficiaries. The most positive comments were made about SUNW (due to their strong line up in the Unix market and delays in Intel's 64-bit Merced chip family).

**** I still see DELL as a MAJOR beneficiary due to their direct business model and the high quality PCs, laptops, servers, and storage products that they offer the corporate market. When you are upgrading why not go with the firm that offers the BEST value on the BEST products?? IMHO, DELL should thrive in the next year as we move towards the 21st century.
