Japan's situation was/is different, Gregor. I wouldn't argue with you there. But I think there is a fair amount of corruption in our banking system -- by that I mean people who goof and work like heck to hide it until there is something massively wrong. They were bailed out once -- they will have to be bailed out again.

Comparably speaking we don't have a real estate bubble, either. Savings or overspending can kill an economy -- our problem may be the flip, but worldwide I think there is an overcapacity problem and that we cannot escape -- what did Greenspan say -- can remain an island of prosperity.

I'm not worried about our economic situation -- just trying to position my meager funds accordingly. I think that God has uniquely blessed (I'm not blindly patriotic -- don't get me wrong) this country. I think we will recover rather quickly from the recession that I think is coming. Even so, God is the Provider.

I think in the eyes of the world at large, even the poorest of us here are very rich, but as you say -- what is that? Only useful while we are here if we recognize we belong to Him.
