It's too cold to go to the pool. The poolside information season is officially over.

High Priest:

<<Why is the Sharpy chip delayed ANOTHER QUARTER ?

Q2 1999 is an awful slip !

Such a great product should be out on the market now, shouldn't it?

If it worked.

Doesn't it work yet?>>

The only thing that is needed for K6-3 is to design the L2 cache controller. This task is an order of magnitude compared to
designing a CPU.

Think Dr. Engle. Why is AMD not releasing it? The answer is very
simple. I'll give you some choices to choose from to why AMD is not
releasing the K6-3.

a) AMD doesn't want to drive INTC out of business.
b) AMD wants to milk the market of K6-2.
c) AMD wants to position K6-3 against Katmai.
d) Customers want AMD to delay the K6-3.
e) AMD implanters are down.
f) The sky is blue.
g) The fed hasn't cut the interest enough.
h) Noyce secretly made a deal with Sanders to release the K6-3 late.
i) AMD hasn't found a good name for the K6-3.
