Papaya : I can somewhat understand the $2 rise in POG, today, but not the 8% rise in XAU. At 79, the resumption of the bull trend in gold shares (but not in POG) has clearly been confirmed decisionpoint.com.
If it is a case of the tail wagging the dog, then shortly we will see POG doing a turn-around and also going upwards. THAT will be something to behold because the stochastics are very bearish!

Apropos the Dow, I can't do better than offer Mr Barton'explanation for apparent weakness --- that volumes have been falling for a few days already. BUT, he still sees nothing bearish. asiachart.com
Anyway, the picture is altogether different from when Dow was below 8000 and, IMO, it is possible that previous highs could still be reached.
