I've got the same problem with the patience thing. I founds I was being too impulsive. With the use of the stop limit order, it gave me extra time to evaluate the technicals before being committed to a filled order. Helped me tremendously on the consistency side. I've found that once I get an order filled, there's a very high liklikhood for me to get a stop in such that my downside risk is next to nothing but I still retain unlimited upside potential. Once I get to that point I don't mind getting stopped out. Who's the broker refusing your buy stop limit order. I simply use Ameritrade. Some day I'll be using an ECN at home.
