Jim, Schwab's Briefing .com agrees with Cowens and says that this is a good entry point for QCOM:

Telecommunications Equipment

•Lucent (LU) added more than 4 points on institutional buying and news that company and Orckit communications signed a sales and marketing deal targeting the growing ADSL market in Europe, Middle East and Africa... Stock poised for near-term test of 90-92 area.

•Salomon Smith Barney downgraded Northern Telecom (NT +5/8) to outperform from buy.

•Qualcomm (QCOM) slumped 2 5/8 despite posting better than expected earnings... Sell on the fact reaction creates good (re)entry opportunity for long-term investors seeking above average capital appreciation potential as company's strong earnings history suggests material multiple expansion.

•At Home (ATHM) added 1 1/8 on news company agreed to a broadband content development and promotional relationship with MTV that will give @Home users access to enhanced content and existing programming assets from MTV Online.
