Ameritrade sounds about as bad as SureTrade (or as some customers call them: "Unsuretrade"). SureTrade has low commissions ($7.95 flat) and the lowest margin rates in the biz... but that's all they have.
When it comes to common sense business practices and service you can forget it. I liked Datek, they were about the best of the super-discounters that I've dealt with. They won't do pink sheet stocks though. SureTrade will do anything and is so sloppy, that it's not uncommon to use way more margin than you are supposedly allowed to, because they have minimum wage workers handling million dollar transactions that don't care what's going on, and too lazy to check anything. I think even SureTrade's computer is lazy. O.K. just my two cents....next!...
