Lar --- O T --- but it really can't be off topic on the insanity thread, can it ? ? Seeing as how the market is closed and Monsanto has blindsided me again ....... I need to laugh to keep from crying ....... ====> And don't forget those paddles with all the holes drilled in them Early in my 4th grade --- this was about the time of the Boer War --- my 4 room school house burned down. We had 8 grades and as you can tell, some were more than a single grade being instructed together .........ggggg One of the few items salvaged was the" barrister type bookcase" ( the kind with the glass doors that lift up ) which came from the office of Mother Superior Maternis. The parish converted the parish hall into the school in less than a week and things went along as normal..... bust Nemer's knucks and try to teach ...... The next year, the parish decided to build a new school and held an auction of some of the old things which would be replaced. My aunt bought the bookcase mentioned above ---- and the paddle that hung from a nail on the back of it ....... When she died, she left me the bookcase and it's in my house now ... and I still love to tell the tale and show off the nail , but the paddle was lost in history some where ......... I guess I must have learned something for I graduated from High School 4th or 5th out of 150 with a 96+ average ...... and I even made a few good grades in college when I was sober/not chasing girls/going to class ........ but unfortunately those days were too few and far between UNTIL I got married my second senior year ...... 4 point city ......... LOL ...... could be the reason the paddle is gone is so Marilyn doesn't use it on me now ....... after the 36 years of marriage ........ gggggggggg Now, at least I feel better ...... but I still hate the stupid boss of MTC, Shapiro ........
