CIEN - fact is CIEN is not doing well and only recovered due to buyout rumors. Without a brighter business future they are destined to drift back down to the low teens. I don't have a position in CIEN either way.

HS - as usual I got in a bit late. We will see if it gaps and runs again tomorrow or goes back to fill its gaps (in which case I will stop out).

QCOM - I haven't seen any commentary on QCOM's earnings report. After watching QCOM a long time, I can only conclude that it is always a buy under 45 and a sell over 50. I am happy to be in RLT instead, though QCOM is a much stronger company overall.

Thanks for your input here.

For those following the short side, I put in stops for PVN and REXI. I would love to ride them regardless but this is getting ridiculous. This is why I gave up shorting Internet stocks and went long AOL the other day (up 15 points since then). Frustrating part is that I would be well in the black for the year without those two shorts. Maybe 1998 will be my last year for rookie mistakes.
