So there we have it, you do see my point why good people would not wish to run for political office. Here you are trashing a dead man, unable to defend his name and his honor to justify the trashy behavior of the current WH resident. Texas Bush knows they did it to his father, he probably would not want to put his family through that. It's just sooooooo easy for you to sit there at a pc and trash the reputation of a president, multiply that by about a million fold and we now see George Jr's, dilemma. I guess we're getting the kind of government we deserve after all. bp

However much I disapprove of Jefferson's behavior, it's not clear that anything he did was illegal at the time... Fortunately, society has progressed in 150+ years and we now have laws against slavery, sex with children, and sexual harrassment. I think these laws are a good thing, do you? I think we should enforce these laws, do you?

Doug - regarding Jefferson - Yea, while you're at it, why don't you trash everyone just to somehow make Bill look better. The shameless lengths some people will go to in defending Clinton are still astonishing. I find your willingness to engage in that kind of debasement a detestable kind of intellectual bankruptcy. I have yet to see anyone who defends the man cite how he has really contributed to the betterment of our nation, or the world, for that matter. Instead, no matter how low one has to stoop, it seems better to launch into the war of words with a diversion into remorseless diatribe about someone else. It is nauseating. Mr. K.
