I don't care what you think about the morality of Jefferson "playing around with " Sally Hemmings. Now you are spinning your spin, guess what? I don't like being "spun" by you or anybody else. It's insulting to the intellect of the observer. My point about Jefferson is that everything that is being currently "spun" about his relationship to Sally Hemmings is, by necessity, speculation. The man is dead, he cannot defend his position (if he were so inclined, though I seriously doubt that he would care about your position on his morality either).

This continual pointing the finger at others in a justification of ones own weaknesses has been used by the Clinton WH without challenge for so long that I'm afraid it's become an accepted form of political "discourse". I am so disgusted and sick of it that sadly, if it was the intent of those using such tactics to turn off Americans from the political process, they may be succeeding. I have made it a habit over the past several weeks to turn off the political pundits and I must admit, it's been putting me in a much better mood<g>. Life is full and way too short to spend time wasted defending the indefensible (or having it rammed down your throat, figuratively speaking of course). bp
