Here's a list of domain names that qualcomm has registered. Most seem to be not connected. How about wcdmaone.com ? Probably looking at a compromise in the 3G battle.

Yes. Could be Quagmire. Or could not. The combination of an innovation driven company - the Q - with one which is more famous for (ruthless) marketing vs internal innovation (at least recently) will either be a great combination - complimenting each others strengths - or dangerous for the Q. Citrix does seem so far to have been able (after coming close to being destroyed by MSFT) to work with MSFT. Cite this because it seems rare. And that game still has to play out. That this is a joint venture is good IMO. This permits a chance to see how practical lying down with the lion is. Will this lead to the Q being swallowed? Better than a buy out? MSFT's business track record includes inter alia both "partners" (who seem to sometimes be wounded or destroyed) and competitors (some of whom claim to suffer similarly). But $Bill does have savy, resources and clout. How this may work out depends on the skill of Q's management (impressive to date), the scope of the joint venture and the details. In this case the devil is in the details (and perhaps the deal is with the devil :-) ) All views re MSFT just IMO from watching over the years. For better or worse, think this is a major move for the Q. Comments? Chaz
