Richard - Did you read the press release? Last year, some of JMAR's profits were due to tax losses that could be used to write off gains. That made earnings higher than they would have been otherwise. This year there were NO tax losses, so earnings came strictly from revenues.

Regarding >>>the drop in demand from the computer industry for its precision measurement and positioning products should be of concern<<< we've known for months now that the disk drive industry has been in the dumps, thereby creating less demand for JMAR's precision measurement and positioning products. As of today's news (which I posted prior to this) about the recovery in disk drive stocks currently underway, it bodes well for JMAR's pick-up in business in this area.

Things look pretty good for JMAR to me -- but of course now I'll be accused of "cheerleading".<g>

With Durco on board, the recent government contracts, it looks like JMAR is finally on the way up. And judging by the result of the elections, Newt is finally on he way out. Here's hoping the republican party will be on verge of extinction by the time the next Presidential election rolls around. I don't think the Bush Clan will be able to save the day. Of course, they could have someone killed, but that's just their style. Here's hoping JMAR comes up with the ultimate death ray by 2000. General Dynamics? Indeed.
That aside, I'd have to say it's been a great week. AL C
