'...serious threat to Americans financial lives' Yeah right.

scott:
Realizing they are loosing the grip on the 'thing' ML now is venturing in to the lowly domain of discount brokerage through the net.Well surely you have heard the news that they are offering 'free research' and all to every prospective customers or something like that haven't you?

Sure it is a threat but not to 'American's financial lives' but rather the lives of these guys who have been putting up a good show and keeping up appearances.I think the people are fed up and they aren't buying it no more.

I think I am going to sign up,if for nothing, just to get Kurlak's insight in to the semi conductor industry, yeah right.

Scott,
The Fabulous Market Babe's got that right!!! The only Americans' financial lives being threatened are the Robber Barons of Wall Street...Steffen knows the days of the Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs empires are rapidly coming to an end...There are droves of brokers out of jobs...Who needs them??? In the past, investors had to go through these sleazeballs to invest, and you would have to stave off their constant efforts to get you to churn so they could collect commissions...These houses and their brokers didn't give a damn about you unless you were a large institutional investor..If the SEC continues to do the right things, these huge market makers will not have the power they have had in the past to abuse the system...Three cheers for On Line Trading and the pioneers who fought to level the playing field..The SEC has been under better management than in the past when it was overtly aiding and abetting these sleazebags...
