ACYT doesn't have FDA approval where CYTC is already establishing a market presence and is FDA approved with HBO's authorizing payment for the test. The pathologists I spoke with have heard of ACYT but have a wait and see attitude on this instrument as a "screener for PAP smears"
Here is a quote from a news announcement by ACYT folks:

"We are gratified that the FDA has accepted our SCREEN PMA for review. We are particularly pleased that the SCREEN PMA has been accepted for review even though our PREP PMA still awaits approval by the FDA. This brings us one step closer to our vision of offering a LBP system integrated with a computer- based image analysis system"

Automatic cell readers were tried with Coulter Diagnostics and Abbott Diagnostics years ago and automated cell identifiers have come a long way. This technology could bear fruit but once again I'd want to see preliminary results of the ACYT success rate and False Negative rates before making an informed decision on buying into ACYT. Still thanks for the look at and I will post what I find out.
