I heard that. Well Ish, I get so much hate mail its hard to keep up with the informational posts I do get <gg>.

Illinois we used to have to go to the voter registration office and register. We had a non photo ID. I feel we should go back to having a voter registration office in every county with a photo ID being issued. Doesn't matter what party, everybody gets one.

Sounds completely reasonable. My only objection to any type of photo id is accessibility. I think at one point there was no way to get to the SF DMV via public transportation. THis was because the DMV had to give driving permits etc which required regular roads etc so it was nowhere near the SF financial district, marina etc. This was a while ago. You literally had to leave the city to get to the DMV, or go to the sunset. Suburban voters just dont think about these people. In Ca, the DMV is not an option in my book.
