Forbes' Nov 16 issue has a positive article on Russian stocks.
It points out that they are all down 80% from their peaks and there is really no place to go but up for the Russian economy. I think we might have a bull market going here in Russian stocks.

Russian stocks should be relatively cheap; in the commie days the heads (and workers) of the companies lived by stealing every possible item. I don't think this changed that much, so one has to be very selective. This certainly is not a common practice in the US.

Watch that foreign debt situation. They will default soon, if not
already defaulted. Officially they have defaulted on the internal debt
only. So the question is, is external debt default already priced in?
