Magnum Technologies Announces New Product Release MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1998--Magnum Technologies Corp., announces the immediate availability of "CAP-TREND". CAP-TREND allows users to quickly compile and organize large quantities of capacity and trending data after collection via either SNMP or common logfiles. CAP-TREND greatly extends the capabilities and functionality of HP's "Openview", IBM/Tivoli's "Netview" and many other products by means of its unique web-based, graphical depiction of network and system capacity and trending information. Automatic configuration for ease of use and simplicity of operation in dynamic network systems is but one highlight of CAP-TREND. "This is an exciting product that will allow our customers to measure the pulse of the IT environment and then disseminate this information via the Intranet" said Tim Hadden, Director of Technology. "Demand for this technology is substantial and is unmet by any other product currently available. Providing exception reporting, ad-hoc reporting, grouping of network and system devices, exports of data, and device availability reporting extends CAP-TREND's functionality well beyond that of any competitive product. Automatic configuration and grouping are two key advantages provided by CAP-TREND. Once installed, CAP-TREND automatically configures SNMP collections for the embedded management system based on that system's resident configuration data combined with user preferences. CAP-TREND is even more useful to management because it provides for easy input of whatever capacity and trending parameters they choose. Once collections have started, the user can easily group network and system devices into a Business View. Truly the best feature of this product is the fact that ZERO Administration is required to maintain the product. As new devices are discovered or are added to the network, provided the user has specified this type of device for data collection and trending, the system automatically and appropriately adjusts with no further intervention from the user. Several large potential customers have been awaiting the availability of this product," says Hadden. According to David McCaffrey, CEO of Global MAINTECH, Inc. (NASDAQ BB: GLBM), parent of Magnum Technologies, "CAP-TREND from Magnum Technologies will substantially improve the software infrastructure of many corporations. This unique product, in combination with any presently installed software, can be leveraged across the entire enterprise for networks and systems to greatly increase corporate IT management capabilities." Magnum Technologies is a subsidiary of Global MAINTECH, which trades in the NASDAQ Bulletin Board market under the symbol GLBM. --30--nh/ms* CONTACT: David McCaffrey, CEO Tim Hadden, Director of Technology Magnum Technologies Corporation 7578 Market Place Drive, Suite 200 Eden Prairie, MN 55344 Phone: (612) 941-9002 Fax: (612) 944-3311 Web Site: www.magnum-tech.com
