<<see statistics like that are meaningless aren't they?>> I think not ,Bill. What I see is that Americans have been showing a tendency to vote Republican three elections before the Monica thing ever happened. The fact that they stumbled in this very positive cycle tells me that they may well be blundering away their advantage.<<the perception of a Congress hungry for the Presidents head>>This would appear to be the reason for the stumble No? Of course the Republican Congress has been counting on wins here to satisfy this hunger.I am quite surprised that you think nothing has changed as a result of this election. Newt's troubles suggest the Republicans themselves think otherwise. True it ain't over till it's over but at last things mat be coming to a head here. Will the Republicans continue to blunder away their advantage by risking the further wrath of the American voter? Or will they cut and run? I'm betting on the latter.
