So how does the spin-off game work?

Software products goes to Commsoft, Omnitrac operations gets absorbed into G*, R&D/design/fun stays with Qualcomm, manufacturing goes out to the world (ex. ERICY), Leap gets terrestrial infrastructure, Loral gets the gateways to the Universe, NPO Yuzhnoye get the pyrotechnics division, Mqurice get's Qualcomm Stadium and the pirates get whatever's left.

Look's like Janet won't have to worry about this little monopoly after all. Nah, it's too simple and obvious.

PS Isn't it interesting that Qcom is growing by spinning off value to competitors and Msft grew by seizing value from competitors? How about putting a happy and sad person in the same room? Putting Mr. Major in charge might well ... change the world! It is always the unexpected outcomes which turn out to be the most important.
