REH,

You wrote....

>>>a. All major semi-manufacturers have signed a licence and are making the investment neccessary to manufacture RDRAM. They have also all announced product availability early to mid 99

I disagree that they are "making the investment neccesary to manufacture RDRAM"- they were not and that is why INTC invested in MU and why we will see capacity constraints in '99 due to infrastructure NOT being in place...Also, most prodcut availabilty is going to be mid to late '99...

>>>b. Test equipment is in place

I disagree totally with this, read then industry articles, testing equipment is a major issue right now and it is not set up and running...

>>>c. Intel, AMD, Compaq (Alpha) and Cyrix have signed

Remember, just because folks have signed up with RMBS does not mean they wholeheartedly support RDRAM- look at MU before INTC investment, look at NEC now with VCM DRAM...

Just a few comments, no disrespect meant...

Regards,

MileHigh

1)Test equipment is not in place but it has been designed and can be ordered for purchase. Major investment required (INTC/MU)
2)Signing a license does not require an investment nor commit to useage of the product.
3)re..You can't run Windows
without a computer, can you? When I went from DOS to Windows I did not buy any new hardware nor did I buy new hardware going from Win 95 to Win98. RMBS requires new hardware period.
