To Valueman: Thanks. Since rapid data transmission seems to be the major opportunity in both wireless and wire, this joint venture is extremely interesting IMO. Do I remember that MOT is first out with a "postage stamp" system as you describe it? Looks like MOT may have some competition from MSFT/Q if that is one of the options chosen by the joint venture. Also the likes of Telegent and Winstar are at the forefront of broadband data wireless. Perhaps terestrial is first and and then satellite follows in the future. The latter would seem to fit Gates's personal interests. Chaz PS Side issue - CE vs Java.

Excuse my lurking, but where have you heard of the "postage stamp sized antennae and rates of 2-45Mbps+". Are you sure you aren't getting this confused with Motorola's "Piano" announcement.
