Mike:

I am looking for ways to improve my yields while preserving capital (isnt everybody) For purposes of this discussion, lets say I have 100K and it is currently in short term government funds. Earning a whopping 4.5% I would like to annualize a 10% or so return. What are some recommendations of types of (not necessary to provide specific examples unless you have one) strategies you would employ.
Example: buying selective calls/puts or spreads ? particular dividend paying stocks (such as USU)

Micron appears to be ripe for a good spread at this point. Although who would have thought it would get to 45 again.

thanks

He is a bright guy and, odd for a Minnesotan, has a sense of humor.

I resent that, I am a Minnesotan and I have a great sense of humor!

I am very glad to have Jesse as Governor. I also remember him from his wrestling days. I think he has a good head on his shoulders and will do a good job. It is really a great American story. He beat out two career politicians from the major parties and surprised everyone, including me. He got people out to vote that never voted before and were disenchanted with the two party system. I wish him all the best.

Mike, Jesse was also a Navy Seal. Did you ever wrestle Jesse? Would you dare? Mike

My wife was watching an interview with JV and he says that he no longer uses his body to do his job, so now he should be called "Jesse 'The Mind' Ventura".

The Body for Prez in 2004.

MB. I went to Jesse's victory party on election night down at the horse race track. I was wearing dockers and a sport shirt and apparently I was over dressed. <G> There were a lot of people wearing leather coats with Harley emblems and there were a few people in the crowd with green and orange hair. <no G>

I would have voted for him but being a true American, I chose not to register to vote so I could avoid getting called for jury duty.
