DELL COMPUTER OPENS CHINA CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER

BEIJING (Nov. 5) XINHUA - The United States' Dell Computer Corporation officially opened its China Customer center this week.

Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of the company, told a press conference here Monday that he was in agreement with the Ministry of Information Industry and other government departments on training government officials in information technology.

John Legere, president of Dell's Asia Pacific region, says that the company will help Chinese officials understand information technology and the company's technology better and that the company will learn more about China's computer industry policies.

Dell just started selling computers in China directly two months ago and named David Chan head of its China operations six weeks ago. The company has established long-term business links with tax authorities in the past years.
