That period of 20 years when the market was flat had double digit inflation, high unemployment and slow ecomomic growth. In other words, most indicators were screwed. Now and for the foreseeable, the indicators look good. That's why, long term, it's a lot smarter to be a bull now than a bear. Battapaglia quite often appears with Michael Metz, who's been bearish since Dow 2300 or something. No contest. BTW, I don't ever listen to people like Joe, or Bob Brinker WRT individual stocks or sectors. They most often know less about fundamentals than people on this type thread. But for overall market crystal ball gazing, and trying to see trends in inflation, etc., they do provide an opinion I'll listen to. Tony
