AOL is not going to buy Amazon.

Aol will buy Amzn if Amzn is $20 or $30.

However, Glenn's point on the $550 million junk bond can be an issue here.

William,

You are about as bullish on the internet stocks as anyone I know. That was not an insult since I believe the internet future is great. It simply was a leadin to what your present thoughts are on the valuation of YHOO.

YHOO is one of my favorite internet companys along with AOL. However, am I missing something in your opinion regarding valuation here? I occasionally have shorted YHOO for just a day or so. I never planned on taking a large short position. I also never thought YHOO would get this high so quickly so am thinking about a shorting opportunity based soley on valuation.

Any opinion?

Glenn

PS,

Let's stop debating AMZN. You and I will not agree ever on it. We need to wait until 2002. If I am wrong, I will readily admit. I believe I understand AMZN better than I do YHOO.

Isn't YHOO's business model going to be similar to AOL i.e they also will be an online mall collecting commerce fees right ? Is there
any data on what fraction of the ecommerce revenues from their
online stores YHOO and AOL get to keep. I am also wondering why YHOO
has outperformed AOL in this cycle by such a great margin. Is it because YHOO is catching up with AOL in valuation which doesn't make sense as they are so far apart in revenues.
On a separate note, any idea what is causing Rambus's weakness of late. Its definitely showing divergent action from the rest of the
semis/PC stocks. The next bull market has definitely begun as even the
laggards like disk drives etc are [picking up.

Thanks
Anindo

William, amzn excels in price discrimination too. Clickstream tracking that they do
supposedly tells them how sensitive somebody is to pricing, and their prices are adjusted
accordingly.

Victor,

How does that work?
