I was looking at the price run-up that you pointed to during my chart analysis last night. One of the most encouraging things to me currently is the tremendous increase we have seen in average trading volume. Long and sustained price increases must be accompanied by liquidity or profit taking will just kill the run ups like we saw back in 1997.

We have seen large, sustained increases in volume since before the current run-up, and I see no indication that this trend will reverse. In my experience as a chart reader, volume expansion is one of the most consistent characteristics of a sustained price increase. While I do think the price is going to meet resistance as we enter the 2's, it is the volume of buying rather than the percentage of buying that will determine how quickly we move through the resistance. And I see a very positive pattern developing. Looking forward to a happier holiday!!

As always, the management of SI, DCI or any of their subsidiaries do not necessarily support the above points of view. They are merely the opinions of little old me.
