Bernard:

All good points. Ma Bell does have a full plate, but it is a HUGE plate that has plenty of room on it. The alleged offer post Zenit is the closest we have come to any real takeover. So, AT&T is mentioned because of Armstrong, but there is more to it. As I have mentioned before, Loral parts fit well with AT&T parts. They also fit well with ALA. I would probably be happy with either.

As to whose stock would be better--I agree with you at this time. ALA has suffered, and judging by the number of class action suits filed against them each day, they will suffer for awhile. Things will change. Wouldn't it have been sweet to have gotten one share of T for each LOR when T was in the 30's? Unfortunately, Loral on its own is bound to grow faster than either of these companies. Those are the perils of investing in a consolidating industry.
