We are a country of informational snippets, and this has resulted in an America whose collective attention span is that of a two-year old. (The battle was not merely a checking of Lee's army, it was a veritable blood bath, courtesy of a gross miscoordination of federal troops by the Union commanders. It is amongst the bloodiest battles of our history.) Because people must take time to think and search for information in order to become able to divide truth from error, they do not. They simply accept whatever is given to them, this, based not upon its substance, but upon its brevity and style. Liberals know this, and exploit it by telling the public via bite sized chunks that their failed policies and abominable doctrines are the results of sophistication and opened minds. Americans jez luv to be thought of as SoFISTikayded, and so when the slick liberals tell them they must give themselves the right to kill their children, even sucking out their brains, they allow it without challenge. When the liberals tell them it is no great issue that their highest leader has lied to them repeatedly and cheated for years, they believe it, especially since the economy is up. When the liberals tell them that everyone lies, Americans say "Win ah thanks own it, dey be right! I is a Liar!" Republicans understand none of this. I thought they had learned when they put together their very stylish, neatly packaged (if somewhat shallow), extraordinarily successful "Contract with America"; but I see I was wrong. For some reason, they simply have forgotten the tactic. Republicans did not lose because of the Religious Right. We forget their wild success just a few years ago. They lost simply because they are wimps. The party of Lincoln should boldly take positions on moral principle, and then drive them home repeatedly, with all the style and slickness available on this earth. The liberals cannot win. There is no way they can win, given their abominable doctrines, if the Republicans show them for what they are. (Show the people a group of upstanding men in military uniform, Black men, White men, Hispanics and Asians, all of which are as sharp as one can imagine. Let the people see that this is who they are-- who they have sent to defend the nation. Then let them see the homosexuals sauntering down the street in bras and high heels. Then say--"Our boys fight even for homosexuals... but they shouldn't be forced to sleep with them." Homosexuals in the military be outta deah! - LOL)
