What a move, I was watching this thing like a rocket launch, 8800 and 8900 taken out on the same day. I honestly thought that 8886 or 1138-40 area should have held but the way buying came in was tremendous now lot of money is still on side lines --one close has already happened 1130 is half broken RUT is in a explosive mode nad the victims will go back look at the charts and will understand if BULL like Ike says if 1130 is taken out on two closing bais all bets are off.. The only grace would be some weakenss in ASEA or Europe but with this kind of close who will like to short the market, the hedge funds are licking their wounds and market is roaring - what a move this is thr revenge of the markets, the markets and hope roared back -- instead of 6300 we are at 8915-- welcome to the world of reality SI shorts..... in morning I wrote that a minor bhumbo will be OK we got a major one the bhumbo got really bad towards the end...

Hello Ike, how are you?

I was sidelined some time. From time to time I was reading your excellent view of the markets. After a small correction, I think 8500 for the dow would be a good chance to go long.

As you remember I was the guy playing around with the RUT stuff ;-))
I'm still doing that.

Now I'm working on a new idea:

It would be very kind, if someone on the thread could help me to find a data source on the internet for the realtime data of

NYSE # of Advances
NYSE # of Declines
NASDAQ # of Advances
NASDAQ # of Declines

I would need that data at the closing. Next day is too late. This is part of a new trading system. Thanks everybody in advance.

Thomas

Barton Biggs said "rally is Over"

Yesterday, the known foreteller of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter said the rally on Wall Street is "over".

Remember, Ralph Acampora of Prudential said we wont hold the 7400
level and said we were heading towards 6300. His prediction came a day or two before the DOW was around the 7400 level.

Has anyone been following O'Neill's Investor's Business Daily, who
vowed no more than two weeks ago that the DOW wont hold above 8500
and will fizzle out, and unequivocally termed this rally as a bear market rally. (The story since has made a complete turn around and following in the market direction).

The last surviving bull of the wall street(except Iqbal), Abby Joseph Cohen had to finally convert and lowered her S&P earnings, last month.

Just moments ago, a noted technical chartist on Bloomberg said, 9300 will have to crumble before this rally by the end of this year. Besides, this analyst went on to say that several Fund Managers are "little behind and are aggressively buying on any weakness".

What happened and who should I listen to ?

By the way, I respect these prognosticators, the best they provided was no more than a running commentary of the current situation than any future insight, while this lesser mortal remained an onlooker listening to their prognosis with several missed opportunities while Up/Down.
