This type of fuel cell seems a lot less finicky than Ballard's - ie. you can use fuel with impurities in it.

I wonder what a unit will cost? It seems conceivable that homeowners could come off the grid in places where electricity was more expensive than natural gas or where electric power delivery was unreliable.

I bet a lot of Quebecors would have appreciated a system like this during the ice storm.
