The story says NEC is running close to capacity on its 0.25 micron capacity and hints other Japanese IDMs are as well. NEC is being forced to turn to foundries who have an excess of 0.25 micron capacity. If other Japanese IDMs are in a similar predicament and Taiwanese foundries find themselves short on DUV capacity, then either the Japanese or Taiwanese will have to purchase more DUV equipment to meet the demands of the market.

Good for Cymer if the story is accurate.
