Jeff, Of course we're interested!

Please keep us "posted" on your findings.
Dave, I lowered my stop to 24.50 and got stopped out anyway. Care to share any of those "screaming buys" you mentioned?

Jeff, I have appreciated your superb contributions and insight, but must say I am surprised with your decision to sell your whole position (I could certainly see taking SOME profits, of course). Mid October 1997 was right in the middle of a huge run up. ANY error in timing and you would have missed out on a substantial increase. And the Jul 22 drop coincided almost exactly with the market correction, so any individual stock chart should be analyzed in conjunction with the overall market.

I hope you're wrong, so my Dec 23 options get back up, and I hope you're right so I can add a few longer-term options at a lower price. But either way, I wouldn't sell my core position to try to capture a few points. What if Bear Stearns initiates coverage tomorrow morning?

Hope to see you back in quickly.

Rich

PS - Do you think POWI will correct or head on up?

Jeff, Richard, Dennis: excellent posts. Question: why not buy puts?

Jeff and Dennis are, I suspect, better TA'ers on THQI than I am. And the TA case you make is plausible, esp when coupled with Dennis's perfectly valid add'l points re the general (irrational?) exuberance surrounding the stock of late.

Yet, like Richard, I am quite surprised that you sold your entire core position on the basis of this one sell indicator. Unless you've divested most of your THQI gradually over the past few months, you would be looking at a sizable tax hit. Puts seem like a good answer. I strongly suspect that if THQI hits free-fall for a period (certainly a possibilty with this issue,) puts will be priced quite dearly, and will return a handsome profit as folks with low cost-basis scramble to get them. This would provide downside protection while keeping the taxman away and the potential for upside (which, I know you believe, is only a matter of time) uninterrupted and intact.

Would very much welcome additional thoughts. I'll be doing some thinking about how to proceed myself tonight.

Regards,

Dave

Jeff, Good TA's calls.
