You still will not get rid of the crooks. Where money is to be made you will find the sharks. Plain and simple.

Regulate all you want, you still won't get rid of them.

I still think this statement from SI sums it up!!

From the SI Terms of Use:

You should exercise discretion and skepticism before relying on information in messages, since it may be incorrect or misleading. Members may pretend to be people that they're not. Some may have bad intentions or may have bad information-- so beware!

You should make an independent investigation before making any major financial decisions, and if you rely on information posted by other members you do so solely at your own risk.

zonkie,

I think it would be nice if paid promoters had a distinctly different alias, such as a different color (say red) and a phrase preceding their name (say "Compensated Promoter"). Then they don't need to post their compensation in every posting and you can click on their profile and get the compensation information (require them to keep the information current at all times) for each and every stock they promote.

actually, i thought it was an SEC 'Law' that you had to disclose your relationship with a company IF they paid you any kind of fee for your services........... like that idiot that runs www.wallstreetwest.com is SUPPOSED to do......
