He can always use the Clinton method. Walk outside, stick his wet finger in the air, and see which way the wind is blowing. Leadership qualities are unnecessary for leaders these days. I think "The body" will do just fine. I guess the only thing he has going against him is his service for his country. Seems to be a negative with the "voters" at this point.

The bulk of a Governor's job is routine grunt work. Plenty of folks around that can be hired to do that. Any excesses he might be prone to can be adequately handled by the checks and balances build into the system.

He does have a unique opportunity to pick 2 or 3 fairly big issues to push and he is a great salesman. He might choose to push for reorganizing our subtle and complex legislature. We have the largest legislature per capita in the nation. The idea of a unicameral legislature like Nebraska has been gaining steam for some time. He could be the guy to accomplish it.

We will have interesting times on our hands for sure. Letterman and Leno are desperately trying to get him on. One of 'em will probably succeed next week. Keep watching.

I must say, I listened to Jessie of Minnessotta on c-span in debate with the two other candidates and he won handily in my opinion. And I don't know why anyone should be amazed at how knowledgeable he really is, but he obviously is, and his opinions should be embraced by all candidates who want to win- clear common tolerant sense. I think he is underestimated still(strangely enough). But we'll see.
