Microsoft Offers a Telephone to Work With PC's nytimes.com

Well, sort of. This is a mixed review, some favorable points. Being in a moderately humorous frame of mind, I wouldn't go for that, of course.

Perhaps the largest drawback is that to take advantage of all the advanced features, you must leave the PC turned on. If the PC is switched off or crashes, the MP-900 becomes a very expensive cordless phone.

Windows crash? Nah. Maybe someday, when Microsoft sees fit to ship an OS that sucks less, this one will be ok. Run NT, you say? I do, but...

The phone will not work with Windows NT, and there are no plans to create a Macintosh version, Microsoft said.

Cheers, Dan.
