Nathan, I think you're right - things have strengthened for PFG over the last week. I would guess that trading will be over $1 by noon. It'll be interesting to see where it closes.

Nate, I think there are few lazy shares out there(shares left on the bid/offer in volume). People are watching closely and any buying makes it run up fast. This is because gold is getting jumpier, the short positions are getting harder to maintain as the gold in central bank warehouses is running out(or those warehouses are being more cautious as a runup might just mean that bank would lose out on the runup and the borrower would go broke and then the bank would lose the gold as well, so a tightening is occurring) The day to day jumps in gold are bigger....??
