jbe, I must correct you slightly. The primary bumper sticker slogan was, I believe, "America- Love it or leave it." I wonder if William Safire coined that one, like the alliterative classic of the era, "the nattering nanobs of negatism". Seems a bit crude for Safire. We seem to have a new crew of nattering nabobs these days. Decline of the west and all that.
