Question for anybody who knows the answer - When will the 4700 system be available? I'm waiting to buy that system because I want Dolby Digital output. Dishs web page has been saying "coming soon" for a long time.

Kip... I have been looking for some time and getting more irritated all the time with my cable operator.. My son has direct and he like I don't like the idea of two content providers... I found it at the onsale auction site with a good rebate.. It is a 32 bit system which makes it fast.. I upgraded to the 4000 and subsequently installed a 2700 secondary.. My cost as follows... 4000 delivered to me with installation kit...$155 2700 $125...total $280 I bought a few F connectors and tied it into my cable RG59... (All labor was mine)
I am obligated to subscribe to the top 40 for four months at about $20 per month and after 4 months I get a $75 rebate... I immediately went to top 100 and added one premium package for a total of about $40 per month.... I have one provider..one telephone call to charge my visa card.. Nice people helpful to deal with... I think I got a deal... As I said, my son just got his 3000 receiver and is junking
his DirectTV. After my experience, he has one friend who bought and another friend of mine installed a 3750 and is delighted..

I'll give you one.
I live in Alaska and we can't get Direct TV.
The Sat. isn't high enough for us up here
to receive. Talk to the people at Direct TV
and they said that we would never be able
to get Direct TV.
Had a Dish dist. intall a sys. last week.
Works great!!!!!! Would not change now even
if Direct TV did put up a higher Sat.
