You could be right that MSFT would have some restriction on the deal, but I cant see Cisco signing a deal that would limit which DS technologies they are allowed to integrate into their switches.

I should rephrase my prediction - it wont be just like the MSFT deal because the deal between MSFT and Cisco allows Cisco to develop AD code on other platforms and sell it. This would not be part of any deal with NOVL.

The deal with NOVL will likely be to have Cisco develop a native extension of NDS into their switches (IOS). This will allow NDS customers to control switching policies from their central NDS management utility.
