Cup and handle is a chart formation that literally looks like the profile of a cup with a handle. Don't have any visuals, but you can see lots of them in O'Niel's book: How to Make Money in Stocks. Basically represents basing of the stock that occurs after it has recovered from a correction. Price gets back near its pre-correction level and then trades sideways with a downward bias for a week or longer. Volume dries up and the stock stays in a tight trading range. It represents a very strong base formation. A classic cup with handle formation however, develops over several weeks to months.
