The only thing offensive about the word liberal is that it is inaccurate. The correct label should be socialist.

Betty, RR, in itself, is simply an abbreviation for Religious Right, which is the term that members of that ideological grouping apply to themselves. It is, of course, quite wrong to use RR as an epithet, and then to apply it automatically to any Republican who happens to walk by. (May I add that it is also wrong to use that fine old word "liberal" as an epithet.) However, "liberal lala land", in itself, is meant to be offensive. Surely, you don't need me to tell you that. jbe
