I agree with your thoughts and am curious about the matter as well. It would seem to me that Cisco, being the customer oriented manufacturer that they are, should not turn a cold shoulder to the NDS customers out there. They could push for their customers to use AD (per their agreement with MSFT), but they need to support NDS.

Not gaining but probably losing. Note that MSFT will love to get a piece of that great margin networking business. WIN NT 5.0 is make to support many networking features. For small to medium businesses, NT 5.0 can support most of the networking needs eliminating the need for Routers.
