Kathrine,

I agree that Bob has been excellent on overall market calls over the years. However, if he were to rate himself for overall prognostication, I don't think he would give himself very good marks on individual stock, or sector calls. The last couple of weekends, when someone has called in asking for what you're asking, he's been quite defensive, falling back on his overall 4% maximum on any one stock rule.

I have personally gotten to admire Bob's ability to use technical analysis with his five factors of interest rates, economy growth, inflation, unemployment (what's the fifth?), and pick trends in the market. But, when he ventures into tech stocks, he's a stranger in paradise, and I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for his opinions. Basically, he is not a technology guy, although he has self learned to speak the language of semis or semi equips pretty well. But he doesn't know those industries enough, to me, to call them. My recommendation, believe it or not, if you frequent SI much, is to read (and jump into and post) the threads on the stocks you're interested in, if the threads exist. If threads don't exist, e.g., I haven't looked up UTEK, start reading threads that do, like Intel, AMAT, 3COM, Cisco, Sun, etc. You may get interested in one of those stocks. There are far more expert people posting here about tech stocks, that you can really learn from, than Bob, and I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it.

Tony

Kathy, I too am long on UTEK. Bob advised on his radio show that his present opinion on UTEK will be found in his newsletter. However, one caller asked about a large company {sorry, forgot the name} that was entering a new market and wondered if that could or would hurt UTEK's business. Bob described the UTEK products he believed were important and that this new venture would not effect those products. He concluded that these products would sell well in the future. That is as close as I can come up with on his opinion of UTEK from the radio show. Hope this helps. Jeff

Hi Kathrine,
I bought UTEK on Bobs recommendation and in spite of his exellent call on the market, I lost on this stock ,which proves I guess, that noone is infallible. I held it a year, then sold, however I will continue to watch it.
I have been following his take on the market, and find his advice most helpful. I wish that the station here had carried his programs 5 years ago when I could have used some quick advice. Not everyone has the time or inclination to closely follow the market Good luck
