Speaking of DIMD. I checked out their web site today and noticed the TNT is no longer on the front page. The Fusion is there, with a note that "Monster 3D II owners can now experience the power of two for as little as $99!"

Yes, 8MB MegaMII for $99, 12MB for $149. Both are in stock.
That's pretty cheap if you can come up with your own drivers and SLI cable.

Both 8MB and 12MB MII are also back in stock for $149 and $199.

The AGP Fusion is still stated as "Coming soon".

Makes you wonder if anything would be different if Sega had stuck with 3Dfx?

Waiting and debating for Sega next-generation Dreamcast game box? You may be waiting a wee bit longer. Sega President Shoichiro Irimajiri announced supplies of the 3D accelerator chip that powers Dreamcast (based on NEC's PowerVR Second Generation technology) would be a little more than half the expected volume by year's end. Considering NEC ignored the consumer PC market this holiday season by putting all its eggs in the Dreamcast basket, this may not bode well for the PC version of PowerVR Second Generation, which is currently slated for a Q1 1999 release.

Whether NEC will have the capacity to fulfill the needs of the PC videocard market remains to be seen. But a better question to ask is whether PowerVR Second Generation is still relevant, especially after the boffo performance we've grown accustomed to from dual Voodoo2 SLI and TNT action.
