Yup, I've seen write-ups about that 28 home limit too. But it ain't been tested all that much so far, eh? So we've yet to see a reality check regarding it. As for hacking, 'tis true that ya can get into things, depending on their security, anytime they're connected to the web. However, xDSL type technology ain't exactly a "party" type situation like your aforementioned shared ether. It's more like your classic dial-up modem arrangement(eh...that's when you have your own phone line that is, heh).

Bottom Line? The juries still out on both product types. A parenthetical aside, I'm also curious as to how cable companies are gonna provide local phone service. Jeeezus, there's lot'sa ferment going on in this industry sector, isn't there?
