Shalom, The scriptures of themselves are nothing. They are but words on a page. They only have meaning in how we see them, and bring them into our lives and spirits. 'The enemy' sees his own source of righteousness by a different interpretation of the very same words. If you only regurgitate scripture, you reflect back onto him exactly what he wishes to see. If we carry a good interpretation of the scriptures into our soul, and let it grow, then we are as much prophets as were Joseph and Paul. If you have received the spirit of Jesus within you, and he is there, can't you just as easily look within and ask Jesus the same questions as you would ask the dead Jesus in the scripture? If Alan can, and you cannot, maybe you left your Jesus on the page? That last two are not statements, or judgements, only questions. IMHO, if one has truly received the Lord then the Holy Spirit resides within, and if we cannot ask the Spirit within, then we deny that it is there. The Holy Spirit speaks to me from within as surely as my grandfather, who is no longer of this world. Sometimes, when I need an answer, I simply ask them, and they give me advice. If Jesus is to you an intermediary, then look inside yourself to his spirit that you have received within you, and ask him your hearts' desire. The Church has forgotten that every person is a temple, and prefers to extort salvation. This is not a universal condemnation, but in some ways, for some, it is nonetheless true. They have no monopoly on truth. The Jesus within Alan speaks to me as loudly as the Jesus they hang upon a wall. Peace, Darrin P.S. By the 'enemy' I refer to no one on this board, who can honestly look within himself. 'Dis'honesty is the enemy. There is no 'not', only 'I AM'. Our lives are an unfolding, living scripture that will not 'begin' but continues to unfold.
