I was thinking of posting that SI seems (to borrow a term) silly fast these past couple of days. Screens are coming up very quickly, even when my requests are fighting to get through two realtime streaming feeds. Much improvement over the recent few weeks.

<.although his son thinks it is patrick's fault>

Well, thanks a lot, at least my son threw in the towel and said it was not my fault.

Of course, I could cut him out of the will.

But here is what bothers me....Tom Trader and Scott showed links where people using @Home were having problems. Yet the kid got on a UNIX Shell and also had problems. Now, I do have better response using an ISP with a 56KB Modem. But the fact of the matter is, @Home is in theory the Cable Modem of choice. It's pretty hard to argue SI's point, although I intend to try when I call @Home in the morning.

But in all seriousness, why is @Home wrong, and Go2Net right? In other words, is it reasonable to think that SPRINT and @Home are wrong but Go2Net is right?

Maybe it is, I just have to wonder why.

As long as I am posting, by the way, I noticed an earlier post by Cheeky Kid that begged another question to my way of thinking. There was a day, perhaps, when SI perhaps accidentally told a poster how many people peoplemarked him/her. I was a bit taken aback by it at the time.

I wonder, if I knew how many people peoplemarked me then how many times would I go ahead and post frivolously?

Honestly, if when you were ready to post you knew that there were 50 people who paid such close attention to what you said before you said it, .... would you say it?

Well, it was just a thought. I'm sure SI has a reason for not telling us how many watch what we say. I do think, however, that if I knew as I posted something that X number of people were peoplemarking me then I might be less off the cuff before I hit the "Submit" button.

Just a thought, perhaps it has no merit. For all I know, people read what I say for comic relief.

By the way, I just sent Bill Gates Junior to bed hollering, kicking and screaming something rude about Mae West, and Mae East and so on and so forth and I get the feeling this is more complex than either SI or @Home lead one to believe.

Anyway, the young Dr. Frankenstein knows more than I so I imagine this has no easy solution.
