Holy crap! I thought that was a fake press release, but I just checked and it is REAL!! I have never in my entire investment history ever seen a press release that was so cocky and self assured! they actually mock Mr Bezos personally!!!!! I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS A REAL PRESS RELEASE!! IT SOUNDS LIKE A POST I WOULD MAKE IN JEST!!! (but it is real, you can go to quote.yahoo.com and check the news stories under bks)

Herein lies a story: Bezos has prided himself as a bit of the underdog to traditional book sellers and distributors and has flagrantly positioned himself in opposition to them. The market has greatly rewarded that bold positioning strategy with an obscene stock valuation. While out of one side of his mouth saying that they are the "World's largest on-line bookseller" and that they have more titles than anyone, on the other side he is moaning "we are a little struggling start-up about to be crushed by competitors who are maneuvering against us. Mommy fed, please protect us!" Competition can be tough in the real world. ---- Grind those cost structures down to the ground, collapse those duplicated functions and facilities, and dazzle the public with great values and meaningful content and associate programs.
