Jeff, The programming you and Brad have done is fantastic!! This site is so easy to use and navigate. I have seen allot of chat sites, none of them compare to SI.

I am not just saying this because I am a fan of SI. I would love to have the code. Before you guys sold the company I asked Brad if he would sell a stripped down version of it. He said NO, but I could start a automotive thread.

I was thinking of starting an automotive chat site. In my opinion the navigation of MOST chat sites is just terrible!

>>"Further, a competent computer programmer can custom build the heart of such a financial-information website - its discussion forum - in a week or two. Give it a design, add some news feeds and quotes, and the Internet's latest financial attraction is ready to roll out on the information superhighway."

Anybody who knows anything whatsoever about the subject knows how incredible that statement is. The only point it really makes is how uninformed the author is on such matters, which apparently extends to some of his other assertions as well.

P.S. I have over 800,000 lines of program code to my credit. Not only is a friendly user design a challenge to achieve, but creating a system that is stable, scalable and easily modifiable is also very complex. If it's so damn easy, why is it that there are no other major chat sites with an interface as elegant or robust as SI?

Jeff,

Doesn't it really irritate you, Brad, and Jill to be bad-mouthed in the press by someone who has NO CLUE what it means to design and run a operation of SI's magnitude? If I'm not mistaken, your site (SI) was truely profitable for the year unlike all of your competitors and 99.999% of all commercial websites.

It would be nice if Bloomberg retracted the article but most people would never hear of it.

As a nonprogrammer type, I have to say what you guys have done is without peer and I would gladly join your team if you weren't so darn efficient.

Keep up the great work.

OB
